Restoration Program Funding and Staff


Funding

The Restoration Program is entirely funded through a combinaton of state and federal grants. U.S. Environmental Protection Agency has provided funds to the San Francisco Estuary Project, who provided initial administrative support for the Restoration Program. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration provide additional funds to the Restoration Program through the state Resources Agency.


Restoration Program Staff

John Brosnan is the former Program Coordinator for the Executive Council, the Coordinating Committee, the Design Review Group and the Monitoring Group that comprise the San Francisco Bay Area Wetlands Restoration Program. John began his career as the Subscription Coordinator for the Endangered Species UPDATE magazine, which published some of his global climate change research in January 1999. John began his Bay Area career as an environmental consultant, working on impact analysis for various regional-level planning projects. There John worked with clients such as the City and County of San Francisco, San Francisco International Airport, the Port of Oakland and the National Park Service - at Yosemite and Death Valley National Parks. John took time out from the professional world in 2002 to work on a novel before coming to the Wetlands Restoration Program as its first Program Coordinator in the summer of 2002. He has a Bachelor of Science in Natural Resources and Environment from the University of Michigan, with an emphasis in Environmental Policy.
